Why isn't my phone ringing when I receive a call?

I have gone into settings and chosen a ringtone and turned up the volume, but when I call my phone it doesn't ring. It has rung in the past so I don't know what button I may have pushed to cause this.

Check the usual suspects:


1. Volume buttons
2. Do Not Disturb feature
3. Mute switch
4. Bluetooth connectivity

If you use headphones a lot, it would be worth checking to make sure the phone doesn't think there are some in the jack.

When you adjust volume, the screen will mention headphones. If it doesn't you're in the clear, at least with those.
