why does it take 12 hours or so to charge my phone

I recently bought an iphone model MD146LL/A and it takes forever to charge completely and doesn't show on the screen when it is charging

You may be using the duplicate charger, try to charge it with the original charger.

Yes, it sounds like you are using a third-party charger. Try and use an original cable if you can.

I have a third party cable as a spare and it does not charge my phone even half as quick as the original one does.
