Why is my iphone 5 sound not working but only works for calls?

So my iPhone vibrates now for all notifications. It's not on silent mode. I can't play music or hear the camera noise. I can call people and still get sound. What's up with that? I heard some people talking about headphones? I just got an aux cord and used it today, could that be it?
Also, I can't force restart my phone because my lock button is broken.

Try sticking the aux cord into the headphone jack & see if it registers. Then take it back out repeatedly until the sound returns. I know it may sound dumb, but this happened to me before, & o found this step to work.

Sounds like the bottom speaker. Also try turning volume up in all 3 places. 1. Side of phone 2. Swipe up control center and turn volume up 3. Go to Settings > Sounds > turn volume up
Also, this sounds odd, but if none of the above works, try going to YouTube and turning the volume up there.

Also try cleaning out your headphones Jack with a Q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol
