Will I lose all my purchases?

I

iMore Question

I have had to get a replacement phone due to breakage. I've tried to set up from iCloud, but it says there is nothing saved. It's offering me to set up from iTunes or as a new phone. If I set up as a new phone will I lose everything I have purchased on my old phone such as music ?

If you did not create an iCloud backup with you iPhone prior to it breaking then you will be unable to set up your replacement iPhone via an iCloud backup. Having said that, go ahead and set it up as new. As stated above, when you sign in to the iTunes & App Store, just go to the purchases section of each and reinstall whatever previously purchased/installed app, game, song, video you want on the replacement iPhone.

If you don't subscribe to Music, when you sign in to iTunes, your purchased music should be there in "my music". You won't need to download anything. If you subscribe to Music, then you will need to tap the cloud to download songs to offline. Or go to the iTunes Store app and download all at once.
