Why doesn't the menu button on apple TV work like the previous version?

For some reason, when I hit the menu button while watching a show, it jumps out of the show and out of the season and out of the app like netflix and all the way back to the home screen of apple tv - then I have to go all the way back to the app, the show, the season then the next episode. Very frustrating for $149 Siri

Welcome to iMore! Maybe your menu button is sticking. You should only be taken all the way back to the home screen when you press and hold the menu button.
