iMore Question
Hi, My 3.4 GHz i7 is running Yosemite really slowly. I think it is time for a fresh install of El Capitan.
I have the last 2 drive iMac set up, a 250GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive. Disk Utility says both drives are ok.
Do I ( can I) just install the operating system onto the SSD and repoint to the data files on HD2? How do I do that? Or will the fresh install wipe the 2TB spinning hard drive with all the data I would have to migrate back again. All the instructions I have found assume you have just one drive.
Or do I bite the bullet and reformat the drives as one fusion drive and migrate back only my user account from Time Machine?
Help please!
