Why AppleTv single speaker choice

Why, on a Mac in iTunes, you can pick multiple speakers for playback, but they don't have or allow that on AppleTV?
On the right of the volume slider in iTunes there is an Airplay type icon when clicked it will give you a choice of single or multiple speakers.

Welcome to iMore! There is an option in the new 4th generation AppleTV to beam audio to other AppleTVs or Airport devices. I'm not in front of my AppleTV to provide details but it's in Settings. If you're using a previos generation AppleTV then I don't think that function is available.
