How do I take pictures from my IPad photo to my Mac computer

I have over 4hundred pictures on my iPad that I want to put on my Mac computer so that I can organize them.

Connect the iPad to your Mac. Either iPhoto or the Photos app should automatically detect the photos and then prompt you to import them into your Mac. If the auto-prompt doesn't appear, initiate the Photos or iPhoto app (depending on your OS X version) and then import the pics from your iPad.
