Why have all me "Notes" disappeared?

Have updated to iOS9 in the last couple of days and have just tried to access my "Notes" app. It's like it is a new app and I have never used is eg icloud notes zero, Gmail notes 0. Can anyone help as I had loads and it looks like all my important stuff has GONE !

If the notes are not associated with an email account, then they are "GONE !" If, however, you've created a backup, you may be able to retrieve your notes via a restore.
