Has anyone figured out how to CLEAR the history of previously played songs for ios9?

when you play music that you have uploaded on your iphone/iPad/iTouch, the music player keeps a list of all songs previously played. This becomes a super long history list. How can I clear this list without deleting the song from the device. If you swipe on a song in the history list, you can only delete the from the device permanently. I only want to clear this history list.

I have not found a way yet. However, maybe someone else will have some advice.
