Is there a way to set up gmail icon on my iMac and MacBook Pro dock?

If you drag the Favicon from the browser address bar to your desktop, you can then drag the desktop icon to your dock (on the right side of the divider, near the Apps folder, Documents folder, Downloads folder and Trash can. It may not be exactly what you are looking to see, but it is functional. And you have to leave the icon on your desktop... so there's a downside.
