Re: Email

In settings-> mail, contacts and calendars, you can do a few things:

- add your other mail account
- turn off Mail in iCloud settings (i leave this on so it syncs up my mail.
- turn on fetch settings for iCloud email to Manual

In the mail app:
- on Inbox list tap edit at too right, tap the blue circle next to icloud to not show the account in inbox.

These same settings can apply to contacts and calendars more or less.

One of the great things about iPhone is you can have whichever mail account you use, calendar and contact list you use. You may like a different calendar app than the built in one. That works great.

Re: Email

You can just go to the email account in Settings >Mail, Contacts and Calendar > Toggle off Mail. You can then just show your mail in the client.

Re: Email

Does that turn off syncing of your other accounts email to icloud?

I have no idea. The OP didn't ask about that. He simply wanted to know how to turn the stock Mail app off. When it's off it won't take space on the phone's storage or receive push notifications.
