What settings do I use for a time-lapse photo of the night sky on iPad Air?

I plan to take a time-lapse photo of the night sky during the upcoming meteor shower. What settings do I use on the iPad Air? (AF? AE?) How long can I shoot for, i.e., optimal amount of time to let the iPad record? I will be in a dark sky location, away from city lights. What else do I need to know to get the Milky Way, passing satellites and (hopefully!) meteors streaking across the sky?
