When using "Find my Phone", does an audible or graphic alarm go off on the phone?

There's nothing that happens on the phone when it is being tracked. You can manually choose various actions such as an alert or even remote wipe. I have used it to find my iPad/iPhone in the house when I have misplaced it. Just keep hitting the alert button and follow the sound
