How can I get rid of pop ups?

Getting rid of pop ups

Whenever I open a site another totally unrequested one pops up as well. How do I stop this?

I get loads of "Congratulations. Claim and ipad mini or other prize. Act now"

In most sites certain words are highlighted and pop ups appears for them as well.

I don't know how to stop this but it's driving me mad!

I'm assuming you are referencing a computer. You might want to check your Privacy/Security settings.

I see those pop ups on my phone sometimes. I just swipe those sites out of Safari. They're usually not important.

If you are on your phone you can use an alternative browser. Most have Adblock support.

Just curious, but do you have Block Pop-ups enabled in Safari on iOS?
