Notes are gone, how can I retrieve them?

Notes are gone

Notes on both my phone and Ipad disappeared. Not all disappeared, but only for the last eight months. I cannot figure out how to retrieve them

Make sure you have the correct account selected. You could also look online at https://www.icloud.com

If you still can't find them, you might have to restore from a backup.

Check your email notes folders.
