Why is my ipad not charging and what should I do to fix it?

My ipad charges about 20% every 2 hours. I use my iphone 5s charger to charge my ipad also. Is that why it's so slow? If so, how do I know which charger goes where?

If you are using the iPhone 5S charger, it's a wonder that it's charging at all. That is definitely why it's taking so long to charge. Use the iPad charger instead.

The iPhone 5S charger is a 5W charger. All iPads except the originai Mini came with at least a 10W charger. The newer iPads come with a 12W charger. The iPhone charger (5W) is the small cube and the iPad 10/12W charger is the larger square charger.
