What is the best way to upload my dad's photos to his iCloud Photo Library using my computer? Will

My dad does not have a laptop, but he has thumb drives and flash cards with photos. I want to put them on his iCloud Photo Library (not yet set up) so he can have access to his photos from his iPad. I will be using my Macbook Pro to do this, but I don't want this to interfere with my photos, my iCloud account, etc.

Set up his AppleID... Use Safari on the MacBook to log on to his iCloud account... Go to the photos section and upload from the various removable storage devices directly to iCloud...
