My iphone does not open to the Twitter or Facebook app when I click on a link from EMail

I am currently on IOS 8.3. Instead of launching to the local apps, it goes to the web versions on Safari, where it doesn't recognize that I've ever logged on before. It's a minor issue but really annoying on multiple times a day.

Facebook links only open in the app if they're formatted to do so. The Facebook app uses custom URIs to open the app, so the only way you'll see the links open in facebook is if they're formatted like: fb://*********
Same goes for twitter. They may have been automatically redirecting these addresses in the past, but currently I can't get them to open in the app if they're using normal URLs, only Safari.
