Why are my emails returning after having deleted them?

Delete many times and they come back
Also coming back to trash

I have this happen, too. I’ve discovered if I don’t completely close the Mail app, the issue seems to happen a lot less—at least for me.

• How many email accounts do you have configured on your device (assuming iPhone)?
• How are those email addresses configured (IMAP or POP)?
• Are you accessing these same email accounts via any other device (computer, iPad, other)?

I have returns to the Junk folder. I delete them, then delete from trash. They come back to Junk. When that happens I go to my account in Safari and delete them there. Then they are gone.
