Why is my unlocking PIN being rejected?

I didn't forget my unlocking PIN, but each time I try to unlock, the phone has been rejecting it for close to three weeks now. What can I do to rectify this?

You are obviously entering the wrong PIN. Your only option is to wipe the device and restore from a backup. Or enter the correct PIN.
