If I start a new Apple ID on my iPad, will I lose the apps that are already on it?

My mum gave me her ipad and it has some great paid apps on it. I want to use my own id though. If I start a new apple id will I lose the apps that are currently on the ipad?

No, the apps will remain on the device, however, if there's an update for the apps that are currently on the device, you will need to login with your "mum's" Apple ID to update them.
