Can I return to a conversation once i leave

I left a conversation on imessage "leave this conversation" but have not been able to return. Please advise

If you totally deleted the thread, then you can't return. It's gone. If you're referring to a group message, then someone in the group will have to invite you back in. That's my understanding .
