Is there a way to put a caption or a label on pictures you take or save in the Photos app?

Is there a way, in Photos, to put a caption or label on pictures you take or save? So many pictures, but some are old enough that I don't remember specifics. I would really love to be able to do this.

There are a number of apps in the AppStore that will do this.

I see apps to add comments or sayings on the face of the photo, but I don't see any just for labeling the picture for my own information. Suggestions?

You can do it any way you want. Watermarks, copyrights, titles, date/time stamps. But you will need an app to do it. What did you have in mind?

Preferably, something not on the picture but in a title box under it. But if that isn't an option, then something subtle on the picture.

Most users won't give up wallpaper real estate for a title box. You can make your own title box and put it at the bottom of the wallpaper. And you can make it any size you want

Thanks so much!! I am not using these pictures for anything but my own viewing, but knowing the dates and details of each one is important.

I use ProCamera 8 +HDR as my main camera. It has a time/date stamp option at the bottom plus a lot of EXIF data.
The stamp looks like this: See at the bottom.

The EXIF data shows this:

An app called MyPhoto shows even more data.
All this from the above photo.

Check out LabelMyPix. It will add a label and automatically name the photo with the label name. For iOS you'll need Documents 5 or similar to share and maintain custom filename.
