when my ipad is not being used for a while, it drops my wi-fi connection.

I don't understand why the ipad does not automatically reboot to wi-fi when I start using it?

Is it a wifi only iPad? Wifi can go into a "hot standby" mode when a device is not in use... and when you wake it up - you see the wifi coming back full on... nature of the beast.
