Why can't I find the file that I shared?

I used airdrop to share some videos which was from iPad to iPhone, after the process was finished i checked my iPhone's camera roll but those files weren't there. I followed the procedure to share files through airdrop but it didn't work. How is this possible? How can i see those files? Do i have to retry? Please help.

When you did the air drop do you get any type of pop up saying it was done?
