Why is Google Maps strangely minimalist on my iPhone 6S?

Just started using my new iPhone 6s. My google map app was strangely minimalist. So i programmed same destination in my still working iPhone 5. Much clearer and more useful directions. Thinking of getting rid of new 6s. Any way to get the old google map app ?

If someone sold you an iPhone 6S, get with that person and get your money back because Apple has not released an iPhone 6S. It could be the reason your Google Maps app is, as you put it, "strangely minimalist"...
