How do in app purchases work?

in app purchase but didn't have to confirrm

My grandson asked to purchase an inapp purchase. I said I'd see what the procedure was so pressed 'purchase'. I was expecting to see some sort of question like, use this card or confirm, but nothing happened. I'm not sure where this money was collected from. I don't have my card details on that IPAD but I do have an Itunes account. Will it be collected from there or perhaps tagged on to my broadband account? I think his grandad got him a 69p purchase once so his card details are probably on it. Please can you advise?

Do you have him setup on family share or is he just using your account? If using your account then. No you won't get a notification because it's your account.

If there's a credit card that was on file then that's probably the one used.
