my personal photos in my iphone accidentaly turns up in icloud!!

my iphone 4 had some very personal photos.
recently we bought extra icloud storage for my sisters project work.
yesterday she informed me that my pics are there in icloud.
it caused lots of embarrassment and hassles
how did this happen
I had never uploaded it!!
we all do use same apple id
