Why can't I transfer iTunes from my computer to disc or iPod?

why can't I transfer itunes from my computer to disc or ipod

With new iTunes download I cannot make cd's or playlist to burn to ipods or disc.

With new iTunes download I cannot make cd's or playlist to burn to ipods or disc.

Here is the way I do it:

1. Create a playlist of the songs you want to burn to disk
2. While still on the playlist page, click on the gear icon located in the bottom left corner of the iTunes window.
3. One of the options is "burn playlist to disc"

If that doesn't work please provide more information; iTunes version, computer OS (Mac, Windows), etc....
