Why does text gets frozen on my iPhone 5 sometimes?

Ever since I downloaded ios8, sometimes when I text it gets frozen and I can't do anything I have to reboot it to get unfrozen. Tried to clear all my previous text messages thinking that it was full, but it still happens from time to time.

It is possible that you may have a bad iOS install, therefore, you should consider reinstalling the iOS and setting it up as new.

Do you use 3rd party keyboards? Like SwiftKey? They can cause the messages app to freeze up.
