How can I set up separate payment sources on my iTunes Family Sharing?

iTunes Family Sharing and Separate Payment Sources

My wife and I are both in a Family Sharing group with our kids. However, when I wish to make a purchase I am being forced to use her bank /payment source for the purchase. How can I use my own payment source instead?

Use iTunes gift cards and maintain a balance on your AppleID.

Yep, this is exactly what I do on my Family Share. That way my purchases are not charged to the other family member's credit card. I just make sure to keep enough iTunes credit on my account.

No, the point is to share the purchases between family members.
