Why can't I factory reset my iPhone 4s?

can't factory reset my iphone 4s

I can get it in to restore mode but there is no prompt to click restore settings and nowhere on itunes to do anything apart from looking at my music. I forgot my letters passcode and it has disabled my phone

If you have 'Find my iPhone' set up on it, you can log on to iCloud.com from a computer and use Find on that to remote-wipe the phone so you could start over with iTunes restore.
