If you performed an iCloud backup your missing photos will still be there

Using iCloud Photo Library will take up your free iCloud storage space you may need for backing up your phone. Instead, I use cloud based apps like Box, Dropbox and OneDrive to store photos and videos. Then I delete them from the camera roll.
