How was Pandora allowed to update the app on our devices without our consent?

I've read your review. And I understand the beta concept. But what I don't understand is how I've been on 5.6.3 since December and just last night my Pandora App UI changed on it's own..... Without updating, without my permission. I expected the usual ios update..... I've never had an app change without a prompt or having to have some form of authorization.

If the app contains web page like elements, the provider - in this case - Pandora - can change anything they want - any time... no permissions necessary.
