Why isn't my Apple TV working?

Unable to get my apple tv to work. The white light on unit continues to blink and will not stop

I currently have two apple tv units on two different tvs. One works great while the other doesn't. The inoperable unit also worked great once upon a time until about a month ago. The picture would play a while then pause. Now the unit will not reset after pulling the plug or holding down the menu button and down arrow. As mentioned in step #1,
The white indicator light will flash on and off consistently. - Changed out the HDMI cable for a new one. The connection is wireless - going from the apple tv unit straight to tv. Need resolutions Mel
