Why will Mail not download further Yahoo Mails

I access BT Yahoo Mail on iPhone 5 and iPad 2 via the Apple Mail app. It normally works perfectly but stopped this morning - when I try to update now, I get "Checking for Mail" then "Updated at 07.59". I have checked via my browser and there are lots of new emails but they will not download.
I do have a lot of saved emails (to such a point that I cannot set up any new folders) - could this affect my issue somehow?
I would appreciate any help.

I'd double check the settings on your devices with the BT/Yahoo support web site and make sure your settings conform to what they say they should be...
