Why do I have a white "I" in the green area of settings on my iphone 5

In setting there is a "1" showing an update is available. As ISO 8 is so big I haven't updated. But recently a white "I" has appeared in the green buttons in everything that is 'on' in settings & an "o" if the item is off. What does it mean?

It’s been there since iOS 7.x. It’s just the standard notation for ON/OFF state.

And the "1" and "0" are only there if you have that setting in Accessibility -- On/Off labels set to "ON"...
