Why don't my iPhone headphones control the run anymore?

Why don't my iPhone headphones control the run anymore.

I'm unable to use my headphones to pause/restart runs via Nike running app. The music will stop, but not the run. Any tips?

Ideas... try another set of headphones... delete and re-install the Nike app... restore the iOS on the phone...
