Airport Express vs Airport Extreme? - how small is a "small apartment"?

I am deciding between an Airport Express and an Airport Extreme for my home network. I have a relatively large apartment - 240 sq meters or around 2583 sq feet and am getting really poor coverage with my current router (not an Apple). Should I get an Express or an Extreme?

I would definitely go with the Extreme. The express IMO is mostly used to extend your network. Years ago I purchased one for travel so that I could have a more secure network when in hotels and such.
