Why am I only seeing events from one calendar in the "Today" view?

I have several calendars on my iphone & iPad but I only see events from one calendar when I swipe down to view the "today" & notification window.

Initiate the Calendar app, then select "Calendars", and then make sure that a check mark is next to all of them.
