How do I get the plus+ sign off of my playlist

I have downloaded songs on iTunes on my phone but now their showing a + sign next to each song and I can't play them. The font on each song is gray and the + is on each. How do I restore my songs to play? I have most of my songs in a Playlist.

Set up iTunes to sync the items in that playlist to your phone, then sync.

Have you tried pressing "Done" at the the top of the screen?
