How can I add an Apple ID for my daughter to use with iMessage?

I am trying to add my daughter's email address to imessage on her ipad. My apple account is logged on her ipad currently and all my text conversations with others appear on her ipad, which I do not want. When I add her email address, a notification appears that it is verifying, but I do not receive a verification email, either at my email address or hers. How can I fix this please?

IF that email address is in use on another AppleID, you can't add it to your AppleID.
