What happens when a call is made from a blocked number?

i blocked a phone number so if that person should call me what message will they receive and will i know that they tried to call

The call would go to voice mail.... You will get no notification if they leave a message...

Basically the call does come through. You just don't know because the notification and sound alerts are cut off. The caller is not told anything.
