Is the battery causing my iPhone 5C to work a bit and then reboot itself?

My iphone 5c is just over a year old. The last month it has been turning itself off, out of the blue, battery is more than half full, then the only way I can get it back on is to do a hard boot until it says to hook to itunes and reinstall its software and restore it. Then it will work for most of a day, but then this pattern starts all over again: turns off, restore, works for less than a day, turns off again. I can't see any pattern except it seems to happen everyday about the same time of day or battery usage. Is it my battery? My phone did not qualify for the battery exchange program.

Do you have AppleCare on it? Take to an AppleStore - they'll let you know what your options are.
