What antivirus program can I use on the Mac?

Hey guys, I have MacBook Pro 13 and I'd like to protect it from viruses and scams so I'm thinking about antivirus but i don't have good memories with using Antivirus for Mac.

Once I downloaded AVG Antivirus and my Mac got completely wrong so I had to call to Apple support and they told me to not use Antivirus again because macs have issues with them.

So I just wanted to ask you If you use any antivirus and If you do tell me please which.

I don't use anything right now but I have used Kaspersky and never had any issues.
