What if my camera feature does not have a timer icon? iPhone 4s

I have an iPhone 4s & want to use the timer feature but it is not located at the top of the screen. Should I delete & download the app again?

Try rebooting your phone or closing the camera app and then restarting it. What iOS version is your iPhone 4S running?
