Can't upload from iMac to YouTube

Hi all
Trying to upload my first video to YouTube and it goes to the processing screen but stays at 0 percent then states I'm using wrong format
What am I doing wrong?!
Any help would be great

Make sure the file is in one of these formats.
.MOV
.MPEG4
.MP4
.AVI
.WMV
.MPEGPS
.FLV
.3GPP
.WebM

Its plays in iMovie so it's got to be the right format I guess , I wonder is it a safari problem?

Try using Chrome.
