Why can I sometimes skip a track on my Beats Solo 2?

sometimes i can skip a track on my beats solo 2

i checked the quick start guide only it says you can not skip on Android
[Ive got a Samsung S4]
but pressing all sorts on the mic part do skip tracks sometimes but i do not want to break them pressing different buttons.
PLEASE can you help me, my old father bought them for me with other stuff for Xmas
i do not want to break them and i could not afford a new set.
Thanks in advance for any help you could maybe give.
