Why am I not getting emails when my daughter ask for permission to buy something?

When my daughter tries to buy something she gets the pop up box asking for permission but I never get the email. I have everything setup under the family share

If you set up the FamilyShare less than 24 hours ago, give it an overnight to see if it clears.

I don't get emails. I get a pop up on my phone. Do you have the option to choose emails? Also, I did not have to wait 24 hours to get these requests. Set my kids iPads up on Xmas and they started requesting right away. Maybe I did something different though.
